INFRA Skills Support Acorns Children’s Hospice

INFRA Skills, in collaboration with Acorns Children’s Hospice, remains committed to providing specialist palliative care and support for life-limited and life-threatened children and their families in Birmingham and the West Midlands. This article highlights INFRA Skills’ unwavering dedication to the cause and the positive impact of their ongoing contributions.

Supporting Children and Families

Acorns Children’s Hospice operates three hospices, located in Birmingham, Walsall, and Worcester, as well as offering community-based services. These hospices serve as safe, nurturing spaces where children engage in various therapeutic activities, including art, crafts, and hydrotherapy. Acorns provides essential respite, short breaks, end-of-life, and emergency care, benefiting over 780 children and supporting more than 1,220 families, including those coping with loss.

Preserving the Black Country Hospice

Acorns in the Black Country, a Walsall-based hospice, currently faces an urgent £2 million fundraising appeal to secure its long-term future. The Save Acorns Black Country Hospice Appeal was launched in July after additional NHS support prevented the proposed closure. INFRA Skills, along with its subsidiary companies RSS Infrastructure Ltd and INFRA Skills Ltd, has a proud history of supporting Acorns’ remarkable work.

INFRA Skills’ Ongoing Contribution

In early 2019, the Directors of Auctus Management Group Ltd, RSS Infrastructure Ltd, and INFRA Skills Ltd pledged their commitment to Acorns Children’s Hospice. They established a weekly ‘Dress Down Day,’ where employees at the Birmingham Headquarters donate funds to an ongoing contribution pot. This initiative symbolizes INFRA Skills’ enduring dedication to supporting the Birmingham community and helping Acorns continue their invaluable work.

A Heartfelt Donation

On Friday, 13th December 2019, Richard Toy (CEO), Judy Owen (Director of People), and Sean Harrison (Managing Director) presented Isabel Goodwin, Acorns’ Area Fundraising Officer, with a cheque amounting to £808.87. This generous contribution underscores INFRA Skills’ profound commitment to Acorns’ cause and their ongoing partnership.
