Aims & Objectives

LXA: The objective is to equip learners with a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities as a Level Crossing Attendant. This includes practical operation of all types of level crossings utilised on the Network Rail infrastructure.

PO: This segment focuses on providing learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively assume a Points Operator role. It is tailored for individuals who are tasked with manually operating power operated points, especially in situations where they have failed or need adjustment to set routes for on-track machine and train movements within worksites.

Requirements

For the LXA segment, attendees must possess either an IWA or COSS qualification as a prerequisite. The PO segment does not specify prior qualifications but emphasises the importance of the role in managing point operations.
