Summary

The COSS Assessment (Day Shift) is a mandatory evaluation conducted on-track following a 4-month probationary period after the initial competency is awarded. This assessment is part of a regular cycle; candidates will move into the standard 9-15 month on-track evaluation. Successful completion will result in a COSS recertification.

Aims & Objectives

This course aims to ensure that candidates possess the necessary knowledge and understanding of the Network Rail Rule Book and the Railway Group Standards. Additionally, it aims to assess the candidates’ foundational knowledge in other areas of their qualification.

Requirements

COSS Assessments can be scheduled during mid-week, night, or weekend shifts. Please note that the listed cost does not cover Assessor’s Travel Expenses. A separate fee will be determined based on the distance, with mileage charged at £0.45 per mile for on-site evaluations.

Course Completion and Sentinel Upload

On Completion

When applicable, once you successfully complete your course or assessment, a member of our staff will update your competency in the Sentinel system. You can order your Sentinel smart cards directly from Sentinel at www.railsentinel.co.uk. Please note that this will incur an additional cost which you will be responsible for covering.
