Summary

This programme is designed to equip participants with the qualifications to start a career in Rail or Construction. For three weeks, attendees will be trained from Monday to Friday at our Training Centre with a Specialist Rail Training Area in Aston, Birmingham. Training sessions run from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The course is funded by the Adult Education Budget (AEB) of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and is particularly beneficial for candidates from the West Midlands. On completion, participants have a guaranteed job interview with RSS Infrastructure.

Aims & Objectives

The primary goal of this programme is to prepare adults for the workforce, upskill current employees, and offer specialist training in Rail and Construction. The Funded Learning programme consists of two phases spread over 15 days. Phase 2, which spans ten days, encompasses modules such as PTS E-Learning, PTS Practical, DCCR, OLEC 1, Small Plant, Track Induction, and Interviews.

Requirements

Candidates should be 18 years or older and must provide a valid form of identification, like a passport or a valid UK driver’s licence. Before being accepted into the programme, participants need to pass a drug and alcohol test, as well as a medical examination, which will be conducted at the INFRA Skills office in Aston. Random drug and alcohol tests will be carried out during the course. Attendees must be punctual and attend all scheduled sessions.

Course Completion and Sentinel Upload

On Completion

When applicable, once you successfully complete your course or assessment, a member of our staff will update your competency in the Sentinel system. You can order your Sentinel smart cards directly from Sentinel at www.railsentinel.co.uk. Please note that this will incur an additional cost which you will be responsible for covering.
