Duration: 1 day
Cost : £110
Anyone who already has a valid COSS certificate and is now expected to set up safe and effective protection measures for multiple groups of people performing engineering work. The Sponsor should select applicants who, in their opinion, are mature and experienced enough to fulfil the role’s requirements. Delegates must submit verifiable evidence of performing at least 6 COSS duties in the previous 6 months, according to the Network Rail Approved Training Plan for PC.
Candidates who successfully complete the course will have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of a Protection Controller. A qualified PC must arrange any line blockage to the line that requires more than one group to operate within it. The PC will communicate with the signaller and take the block, after which any other COSS intending to work within the block will sign on to his form.
This course is for people who want to be Protection Controllers for multiple groups of workers on Network Rail’s infrastructure.
