Summary

This course involves an on-track IWA assessment that takes place during a probationary period of 4 months following the initial award of the competency. Afterwards, participants will undergo the regular 9-15 month interim on-track assessment process. Subsequently, they will attend an IWA recertification. Assessments can be scheduled during mid-week, night, or weekend shifts.

Aims & Objectives

The primary aim of this assessment is to ensure that individuals have effectively set up and maintained a safe work pack in line with the Network Rail Rule Book and the Railway Group Standards. Additionally, candidates will showcase their foundational knowledge in other areas of their qualification that weren’t observed during the assessment.

Requirements

Please note that the cost does not cover Assessor Travel Expenses. A separate fee will be applied once the distance is confirmed. Mileage for on-site assessments is charged at £0.45 per mile.

Course Completion and Sentinel Upload

On Completion

When applicable, once you successfully complete your course or assessment, a member of our staff will update your competency in the Sentinel system. You can order your Sentinel smart cards directly from Sentinel at www.railsentinel.co.uk. Please note that this will incur an additional cost which you will be responsible for covering.
