Summary

This course covers the construction, renewal, enhancement, and modification of Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) in line with design drawings and specifications. It also includes the installation of small part steelwork as part of its core module.

Aims & Objectives

The primary aim of the OLEC 3 course is to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake construction, renewal, enhancement, and modification activities of OLE. By the end of the course, participants should be able to work safely, adhering to set procedures and specifications, ensuring the quality of their completed work.

Requirements

  • Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 to a minimum medical level 4 and Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/0120 (Drugs & Alcohol).
  • Bring a valid Sentinel Smartcard endorsed with PTS AC, OLEC 1 & OLEC 2.
  • Provide a completed log book showing prior learning competence and a witness testimony.
  • Present evidence of previous OLE equipment installations

On Completion

When applicable, once you successfully complete your course or assessment, a member of our staff will update your competency in the Sentinel system. You can order your Sentinel smart cards directly from Sentinel at www.railsentinel.co.uk. Please note that this will incur an additional cost which you will be responsible for covering.
